Jackie and Ashur were married at the Old Edwards Inn in Highlands NC in September, 2013.
The Old Edwards Inn is my all-time favorite wedding venue and it was an incredible day with lots of fun and emotion. Their first look in the orchard was especially beautiful.
It was also great to work with Jeremy of Harwell Photography. We’ve worked together a couple of times at the Old Edwards Inn and it is always fun. He is incredibly talented.
When I first met Maggie in downtown Greenville to talk about their upcoming wedding, it was pretty clear that this was going to be special. An October wedding in Linville NC…at one of the premier venues anywhere in the Southeast! All we needed was good weather…and we got it! Both families were clearly so excited about the wedding. The talks at the rehearsal dinner really set the stage for an incredible wedding day on Saturday.
Maggie and Richard, I can’t thank you enough for allowing us to be a part of your day and I hope this highlight will bring it all back.
And getting to meet and work with A.J. and Cynthia of Simply Photography was a treat we didn’t expect! We hope to work with them soon…or at least drink some craft beer with them in Raleigh.
Filming the wedding of friends is such an honor and VERY exciting for me! In this case I’ve known Beth and Drew and their familes for years…since they were little kids actually. So as if this wedding wasn’t special enough…for me it was emotional. We filmed their rehearsal dinner on Friday night at Sobys on the Side and what a beautiful place that is for an event! We used some of the words from those talks in this highlight and will use even more in their cinematic short form edit which will be coming soon! It was also exciting for me to create a movie of Beth and Drew talking about their dating days, their very fun proposal, the wedding plans and what they were looking forward to in the future. We showed it at the rehearsal dinner.
Katie and Bradley were married in Greenville SC on September 28th. Since they both lived in Columbia, SC, I hadn’t met them until the wedding day. By the time they left their incredible reception, I felt like they were long time friends. They just make you happy to be around them. And while I was editing their highlight, I kept noticing how much love and excitement they had for each other. You’ll see what I mean! Their ceremony was at the beautiful Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Greenville and the reception was at the Wyche Pavillion located on the Reedy River. It is truly a stunning setting for a wedding reception celebration. Music is very important to Bradley and he wanted a good band….so he got one! I’ve have the pleasure of working with Monique and the Mo’Sol Band several times at various east coast locations. It’s a blast every time!
It has been one heck of a wedding season and it’s just about over…all but the editing! Christy and I started the season way back on a cold spring day in Montgomery Alabama. The wedding we were about to film would be one we wouldn’t soon forget. It was very special. It was so special that this morning I decided to share their full short form cinematic movie here. The toasts at the rehearsal dinner gave us some beautiful words to help us tell their story. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
